Wireless operators are required by the FCC not to interfere with other operators. Generally speaking, this is not an issue between commercial wireless operators as their equipment vendors have taken steps to ensure compliance.
On the other hand, broadcast companies, LMR operators, and government systems are not as certain that they will not be impacted by new systems. To ensure compliance, they often require an Intermodulation (IM) and Interference Analysis report from new collocators on a structure. This provides a level of comfort that all systems will continue to operate optimally.
